Some things I understand internally, intuitively. Poetry – I can read a beautiful poem, and will just say “I like it” because I do. I can read it like a musician who plays be ear reads read music, with his heart, I get it on the inside – but he couldn’t write down the notes that explain it 😀
Same for me with my writing – I’m a “play it by ear” writer (and reader).
This is the third in my “Team Charisma World People” guest blogger series. Yoshiko’s collaboratively converted my ideas into a lovely poem. She’s has an Asian simple elegance that the Japanese (and Chinese) are renowned for.
“I LIKE IT” … So because of MY understanding by ear, by heart, well, long story short I’ve asked Belinda to give a poet’s perspective :
Yoshiko has captured for us the essence of taking moments – real or imagined – to sit quietly and refresh our souls and minds – like fresh sea breezes can refresh our faces, and so we face each day as a cycle in life.
Yoshiko compares the glowing sky to the peaceful glow moving in us when we begin to feel nature in solitude, with gratitude and understanding of our responsibilities to face our reasons for the work of our days.
Thanks Belinda 😀 … and apologies Yoshiko- I’d have liked to have written that personally, but I’m still developing my Charisma in this area … this is a collaborative project, Belinda was happy to assist – Team Charisma World People 😀
Yoshiko is a blogger who loves poetry. She’s been a regular contributor to my blog, rarely a day has gone by that I haven’t seen a comment from her. She’s often asked me for my interpretation of the quotes that I post. It’s useful to look at what the quoted person was actually saying, or at least an interpretation of it. Helps me, and probably helps some of my readers too.
What it’s about :
Topic/Title : Soul Glow
Type : Poem
Guidance : You’re sitting on a beach by yourself, early evening around sunset. You’re content in your life, happy. The nagging doubts and minor sadnesses of the past are still present, but they are like a feint background noise. The last rays of sun on your face, the gentle warm breeze, the nice meal you ate earlier keeping you alert and feeling alive … and the love of the ones you love, you still feel all around you … They are close by and safe, and so are you … This is your time just for you, to relax, to recharge and bask in the glory of who you really are … THE POEM IS ABOUT HOW YOU FEEL IN THIS MOMENT.
The above paragraph is Don Charisma’s guest blog guidelines help to ease my fatigue
mind. As my imagination reminisce my younger days to walk around the beach, I feel
comfortable. Wish you all have good days and thank you.– Yoshiko
Yoshiko asked me if I would send her one of my photos as an inspiration – it’s included with her submission – a beach sunset taken this year.
Our hope – to share something beautiful from inside … GO Team Charisma World People 😀
So without further ado, I give you Yoshiko’s Soul Glow :
“Soul Glow” by Yoshiko
Don, here is my poem. Thank God for the words.
– Yoshiko
The sea breeze
Comforts my suppressed
Heart and mindThe orange cloud
Flying in the sky
Looks like a
Pair of clapping handsThe day is ending again
Time to rest
From our hard labours.– Yoshiko

Such a simple expression of complex image/feeling, very beautiful…
I love poetry and to write poetry, but have not mastered (or even perhaps “noviced”) this style yet.
You and me both on that … the Asians are renowned for being able to say a great deal with very little, in a written sense 😀
This is lovely!
😀
A beautiful peotic way to end the year. Simply amazing.
