Perfidious Beautiful Beast

You broke something pure and true
Something innocent and divine
Worth fighting and dying for
So precious you may never know you lost
That might torment the other for eternity
And then stomped and stomped and stomped
You used him to hurt me
Without regret or remorse
You made a whole a half
I don’t think you know the pain you caused
To he who could only see good in you
For what ambition and self-interest
Listening to those who had not your best at heart
To then betray your divinely loyal biggest fan
My heart still seeks to comprehend
Truly beauty with a beast within
But I must have the courage to forgive
As the greatest gift at all is freedom
A potent power is in letting go
So my loyalty must end
It’s a burden I cannot carry no more
The goodbye I never got the chance to say
The tears you never heart me cry
The grief I bore for long
I must now forego
To keep my soul
One of the hardest thing I’ve even known
Is to say goodbye
And, let, go, perfidious, beautiful, beast.

    1. Sorry for delay, had to find right words.

      Thanks Noel.

I wanted to write something authentic as possible, and, this, is/was, something bouncing around – the only way I can express is a poem. Sometimes, I’ve found solace or catharsis, in other’s authentic works, or, even just their company. Maybe, it helps someone else, to understand themselves better, or, just know they are not alone.
