Internship Update

Heather, our technical writer intern has kindly sent me over an update. I feel it’s important to keep readers updated on how it’s going, and so Heather can share what experiences she’s had in our intern program.

Heather’s words :

“Don suggested that it would be a good idea if I created a blog post to let you all know how things are progressing with the intern process and give you all an update on where we are with the project so far.

I’ll be honest with you all and say that it has been quite a steep learning curve for me so far. Apart from my own blogging obligations, this is the first real ‘serious’ writing project that I’ve undertaken. That meant that I had next to no idea what to expect from the process at all.

I have to say that both Don and Danny have been both welcoming and generous with their time and have already shared a wealth of knowledge and tips that have helped me to become a better blogger in just a few short weeks.

Things have been moving forward in the last week or so and I have been working on my first few articles for Don and Danny to look over. There is not only writing involved, but also research, research, and a bit more research 🙂

I’ve always found that, in order to sound knowledgeable and confident in terms of what you’re writing, that you need to have at least a basic understanding of your chosen subject and this is something that I’ve spent a fair bit of time undertaking over the last couple of weeks. It’s all about having solid foundations, as they say….

I have been overwhelmed by the response to my article ‘How Google Search Really Works’ and I hope that when the articles I’m currently writing are published that you’ll enjoy those just as much. I’m working hard, learning and also having a lot of fun in the process. I hope you’ll get as much enjoyment reading the articles as I did writing them :)”

Heather is and continues to be marvellous to work with, dedicated, thorough and very personable. Danny and I are very pleased to have her as part of the team.
