I’ve discussed with business partner Danny, and we only have the resources to manage one (maybe two) intern(s) on this the first Don Charisma intern program. We’ve had 6 applicants.
APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED FOR THIS INTERNSHIP, PLEASE APPLY FOR THE NEXT ONE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.
Personally I’d prefer to take on all those who applied, but we simple don’t have the resources. So the selection process will be as follows :
- I will announce two pieces of writing, one on SEO, then later one on web design (or development).
- You will be given 48 hours in which to write your entry, which will be submitted to me by email. Don Charisma’s blog runs on GMT, so please make sure you are familiar with converting timezones, as deadlines will be listed in GMT.
- Your entries will be listed in a post, along with a poll, and my readers will get the chance to vote for their favourite entry.
- At the end of the second poll for the second entry, we will gather the scores and make a decision on who will go through. Winning in the poll does not guarantee a winner, we will take many factors into account. Please just try to do your best, and remember that all factors are being considered, not just our readers opinions.
We feel that a competitive process is the best way to assess who’s really up for the challenge, and really wants to give it their best shot. Working under pressure, and in the public eye is something that we have to do in blogging and in our work, so the selection process in itself is a good experience.
PLEASE understand that it’s nothing personal in who we select, we’re just doing our best within our resources.
OTHER BLOGGERS DO NOT RESPOND TO THE INTERN’S WRITING TITLES, I WILL IGNORE ANY PINGBACKS AND COMMENTS IF YOU TRY TO ENTER WITH WHAT IS WITHOUT MY PERMISSION.
I WILL TAKE A VERY DIM VIEW OF ANYONE WHO INTERFERES WITH OUR INTERN PROGRAM. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
The Don Charisma Internship Applicants
Dear Intern applicants,
If you have applied and we’ve accepted you for the selection process, then you have agreed to the terms laid out in my original post –

I’ve sent an email to everyone above, I’ve only received 5 replies, which means one person didn’t respond or didn’t receive my email. If this is you, please let me know as soon as possible.
Please include your blogname in any emails, so I can quickly see who it’s from. It is possible that the blog has one name, the avatar a different one, and further the person’s name is different.
So, dear applicants – send me another quick email to say you’ve seen this post. If you have any issues with the timescales (or any other issues or questions), I need to know about them now please. We will do our best to accommodate everyone, so that everyone gets a fair chance, but within that remember it’s competitive and you’re already being assessed.

Notes for commenters:
Comments are invited. BUT you are reminded that this is a public blog and you are also reminded to think before you press the “post comment” button.
Good manners are a mark of a charismatic person – so please keep comments civil, non-argumentative, constructive and related, or they will be moderated. If you feel you can’t comply, press the “unfollow” button and/or refrain from commenting.
I read ALL comments but can’t always reply. I will comment if I think there’s something that I can add to what you’ve said. I do delete without notice comments that don’t follow rules above. For persistent offenders I will ignore you permanently and/or report you.
Most decent people already know how to behave respectfully. Thank you for your co-operation on the above.
Warm regards, Don Charisma
