I’ve discussed with business partner Danny, and we only have the resources to manage one (maybe two) intern(s) on this the first Don Charisma intern program. We’ve had 6 applicants.

Personally I’d prefer to take on all those who applied, but we simple don’t have the resources. So the selection process will be as follows :

1. I will announce two pieces of writing, one on SEO, then later one on web design (or development).
2. You will be given 48 hours in which to write your entry, which will be submitted to me by email. Don Charisma’s blog runs on GMT, so please make sure you are familiar with converting timezones, as deadlines will be listed in GMT.
3. Your entries will be listed in a post, along with a poll, and my readers will get the chance to vote for their favourite entry.
4. At the end of the second poll for the second entry, we will gather the scores and make a decision on who will go through. Winning in the poll does not guarantee a winner, we will take many factors into account. Please just try to do your best, and remember that all factors are being considered, not just our readers opinions.

We feel that a competitive process is the best way to assess who’s really up for the challenge, and really wants to give it their best shot. Working under pressure, and in the public eye is something that we have to do in blogging and in our work, so the selection process in itself is a good experience.

PLEASE understand that it’s nothing personal in who we select, we’re just doing our best within our resources.
