VE or Victory in Europe day, was the day the Nazi’s in Germany unconditionally surrendered to the allied forces back in 1945, 8-May-1945. It’s celebrated in the UK, and I am proud of our countries, and my ancestors, for the defeat of the fascist Nazi movement headed by Adolf Hitler – a truly evil regime, that committed horrifying crimes on a mass scale.

As I’ve said before many times on this blog, I’m EXTREMELY ANTI fascism or totalitarianism, they both end up being equally as abhorrent for people who live under such regimes. This is what vast numbers of our young men fought and died for in WW2, to protect our civilised free societies from – so we could enjoy liberty, freedom, freedom of speech, freedom from tyranny, freedom from genocide and peace.

And lest we forget the many women who also where an essential part of the cooperative allied forces machine.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE – TO ALL OF THOSE WHO HELPED DEFEAT THE NAZIS

REST IN PEACE – TO THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES
