   First, thank you for following my blog. I also offer a kind of potpourri of posts…some humor, most inspirational, and other assorted posts. I also have many siblings who owe me from when we were growing up, so I occasionally twist their arms to include their brochures, humorous essays, and pictures (but they don’t resist much ;)).

   I LOVE your “NOT” award idea! It reminded me of a time I lifted my own spirits by awarding myself Employee of the Month status where I used to work, several months in a row. The reason was that the agency hired a HORRIBLE new administrator. A real Cruella Deville. At length, she was told to either resign or get FIRED. She made MANY employees’ lives miserable, before she left. Some went on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds to put up with her. She ESPECIALLY hated people who opposed her machinations. I was one of those.

   However, her meanness really caused me to rise up to the (good) struggle for the agency and for my co-workers. I thought that several months I deserved the Employee of the Month award for my efforts.

   Of course, with her on the selection committee you know what would freeze over before somebody like ME got that award!

   And so, I drove into work early on the first day of the months where I awarded myself and, taking a rock, lightly scribed “Employee of the Month” on my parking space.

   I also got myself some flowers for my desk.

   I also took myself out to lunch a couple of times.

   This was soooooooo spirit-lifting, and when I shared my newest spirit-lifter with others, they soon joined my esteemed ranks. We went out to lunch together, and shared the glory.

8. Great idea Don. Thanks for the (non) award. You must have read my mind, since I have thought about creating an angel award, just not sure how to do it. I’ll have to get on Photoshop when this sinus headache goes away and give it a try.

   1. If you can track me down a copywright free angel you like and it’s straightforward I’ll have a look at if for you … I use all-free-downloads and morgue file, they have a lot of copyright free stuff … also “free angel vector” in google would yield some result 🙂

      1. Maybe I can get my granddaughter to draw an angel for me. She has a natural talent for that, so it would be all mine.

      2. OK, whatever you like, I have an idea that would be good with a silhouette but can work with whatever you have …

    I have a feeling that you are not Freshly Pressed if you are not into misery lit, worship of own child (and your own awesome parenting skills), ignorance of political reality and shouting ‘look at me’…but I could be wrong….

          I have been looking at FP recently as a number of bloggers I followed have gone silent and I was hoping to find some new ones….but without success..
          It’s a super idea, but it’s not working for me.

36. I am sooooo jealous. One day when I grow up, I want a I’m Not Freshly pressed award. Actually, I’d like one that sez…I don’t need no stinking Freshly Pressed Award. What a great award. So many folks like us and the people who follow my blog aren’t stylish enough, not professional looking enough, don’t pass the grammar Not-see’s standards of what-ever correctness….and yet we manage to encourage, inspire, expand the visions of others – all without being freshly pressed. This is an excellent idea and I hope someday, I merit such an award. this has now become a goal to which I aspire. Jolly good!

43. Pure awesome, I love, love, love this post. Cracked me up!! I have never been freshly pressed and could care less, I have one upped them freshly pressed editors. I was discovered by a casting director with a major network because of WP and my blog. The network is showcasing my story as the pilot for a new TV series about survival. So take that Freshly Pressed !!
