Best of three movie reviews, I guess – I haven’t yet seen this movie, but it’s probably one of the few movies that came out 2019 that I will actually go out of my way to see. Oh, and “1917”, but I think that might be a 2020 movie.
I’ve added NSFW, as I know he likes to use profanity “oh, f**k off film” is one of his favourites. And of course a devious scheme to click bait.
“The Critical Drinker” YouTube channel is worth checking out for movie reviews if you’re bored with vapid and insipid fakestream reviews.
Anyway, here’s the review of “Joker” :
Disclaimer – I AM JUST PASSING THIS ON (as fakestream media continues to lie, omit, cover up and spin an extreme minority narrative) – When opinions are stated anywhere on this blog they are just opinions, not facts, truths or endorsements. I am not a journalist or an activist and TBH most of the time not a “serious” writer either, more I enjoy creative writing (blogging is supposed to be fun?). I’m a centrist, I read and view content from both sides of the aisle (as long as it’s not blatant propaganda, or utter trash) – so I’m sharing this for your information, something you may not be aware of and may be interested in (or not, in which case, just go to the next post). As with any news, article, post, writing or report, don’t just take it at face value, do your own research, use your own critical thinking. Kind of obvious really, but best stated, so that it’s clear.
Cheers

Comments
Comments are often welcomed, provided you can string a legible, relevant and polite sentence together. In other cases probably best shared with your therapist, or kept to yourself.
Legible, relevant and polite. That’s a good criteria. A shame it has to be a reminder in the current year.
I am always sceptical of anything with acclaim. When Joker made the rounds in my discussion circles, Joker was made out to be an antihero for the disenfranchised working class.
I didn’t end up taking that stance, myself. My own takeaway was we’ve come to a world that’s so demoralised that when asked to choose between a schizophrenic Clown and a parasitic ruling class… People choose the clown. It’s a worrisome thing, role models used to have substance and relatability – mostly because society had a common-ish moral gauge. But now everyone is an individual, empowered and all that jazz, and the increasingly disturbing lowest common denominator is everybody’s irrational and often displaced anger.
That being said, despite my mixed feelings on meta narrative, I would agree with Crit Drinker that of the movies to be coming out, Joker was among the better ones. (Says a man who watched maybe four new movies in the last year and a half.)
Disclaimers do seem to work, to a certain extent. I believe in free speech, but as I’m moderator and responsible party, just reminding people it’s another human being there’re talking to. And, yes a shame for the need for such disclaimer, but these are these days.
I actually watched Zero films last year. Joker amongst, what seems like a pile of films that are a complete “joke”, seems like something worthwhile and real creative talent. But dunno haven’t seen it yet !
And, yes, it’s the way of things right now, anti-hero, may be the best we’re gonna get.
