No need to tell me the right answer, I’ve heard it on TV relating to UK 5G deal with Huawei.
But when I first saw the name on a phone in the phone shop … well … I tried to guess :
“Who are we”
“Who a wee”
“Who’re wee”
“Who way”
And then I’m joking with a friend, and I’m like
“Who the hell are we ?”
(It’s funnier if you try to pronounce it in English out loud)
Kind of ironic though, with the controversy surrounding the company, and then the UK government striking a deal with them, whilst the rest of the world don’t want to touch them with a barge pole.

Keeping it light, and with a similar question, this is a video from an old American TV show called F-Troop, about how the local Native American tribe got its name: Hakawi.
Where the heck are we ?
Perfect …
Thanks

More than a decade ago the company I was with looked at partnering with Huawei. They had great prices and decent tech. Several of our data sensitive customers threatened to leave us if we did, so we declined.
I don’t know much about the topic, but there’s plenty of tech being made in China – Apple use them extensively for instance. So is Huawei being an example of ?
Oh, and how do you pronounce Huawei when there’s no Chinese people around ?
Sadly, we were introduced to the company verbally first, so everyone knew how to say it. The more difficult part was recognizing it in print. When I first saw it, I thought it was a miss-typed reference to Hawaii.
Hawaii – that’s a good one 🙂
