Palm Fruit

My understanding is that palm trees have more than one type (species ?). The typical coconut palm being just one type.

This one – I’m not sure, the “fruits” look very much like pears (which I’m sure they aren’t !) … so I don’t know, perhaps my botanistic readers will clue us in ?

Add to that I photographed another palm tree on the same stretch of road with different fruit (not coconuts either) … confusing !
