Here are two sunsets for the price of one.
When I go out to take pictures of sunsets, I usually go out about 30 minutes before the sun actually sets. This gives me a chance to take a variety of pictures.
These two examples were taken on the same day when there were quite a lot of clouds overhead. I didn’t think I’d get anything decent, but as the sun went down, the Fingers of God appeared through the clouds…
Then a few moments later, the nuclear sun blast appeared before the sunset fizzled into nothing much…

Wow!The pictures are great! There is something about sunsets that never ceases to amaze me. 🙂
That’s why I like to take them. They are somehow quite a calming end to the day.
Yes they are 🙂
You and me both hun 🙂 and thanks …
🙂
Truly amazing! Nikon, Canon…
This was a Canon 600D. On this occasion I took about 70 pics at various times, some for putting together as a panorama, some just single frame shots.
Thanks for the reply Danny! The captures are great.
Thanks.
Wow!
🙂
WOW, these are absolutely gorgeous! :O
Thanks.
I absolutely love pictures of sunsets. We get some pretty spectacular ones here on Lake Erie, too. I have lots of pics….gorgeous, Mr. CHARISMA! haha
I’m thinking to run a 24 hours of sunset collaboration – invite you all to take pics on different sides of the planet all on the same day and post some of them up. What do you think?
I would love to! Hopefully I have a beautiful one that day
I’ll discuss with Don and set it up soon.
No problemo…look forward to the opportunity
Beautiful♥️
Thanks 🙂
Thanks. Oh, and happy 25th birthday ;).
Lol….age is a bitch.
Now that is an outstanding sunset.
Leslie
Thanks Leslie.
Sunsets are neat. The color changes dramatically within but a few breaths. Blink an eye and you can miss the change.
That’s why I always like to wait those extra few minutes. You never know what’s going to happen.
I think this is one of your best images. Especially since you dropped the hulurama exclamations. Tisk! This one is truly stunning and like you said brings up visions of a nuclear blast.
Thanks, I did like the effect of the sun on this one – the J F Kennedy-orama exclamations are more Don’s thing 😉
I rather like the notion of a nuclear blast sunset…
Not if it’s too close though 🙂 There’s always something interesting going on with sunsets. Can never get bored of them.
Gorgeous! It’s amazing how God works! 🙂
I always love these pictures with the sun coming through the clouds. Thanks.
