As it was the end of Easter holidays for the children, I decided to take them on a road trip – to Brighton, UK. It was Tuesday, so we missed all the weekend crowds, and the beaches were pretty empty.
Whilst we were on the coast, we took a short trip to the beach in Worthing (about 10 miles along the coast). Our beaches are not quite like the nice sandy beaches in California or Florida, full of well toned bodies relaxing by the sea. Nope, these beaches are full of pebbles, empty, and the sea is still freezing at this time of the year.
The trip was quite eventful even though we couldn’t go for a splash in the water. Here’s what I saw:

I think I have to visit your beaches. As I have seen on the internet, they see great but without waves 😦
If you are looking for some waves, for surfing, usually people go down to Newquay or some place like that. The water’s still cold mind you…
Haha I don’t mind. Here in the Basque Country the water is cold too, but in summer here is hot, so is better :P. Thanks for the information =).
Any time
J’adore!!! ❤
Merci…love the cakes by the way.
Lovely photo!
Thanks.
Nice post! Who needs Californian beaches when Brighton is just the around the corner?
Sun, sand, scantily clad people (no the nudist beach full of old folk doesn’t quite do it for me!). California has a little more going for it 🙂
Had a good chuckle at the drunk guy under the ironic sign above him. great pics Don
Thanks.
Excuse me for calling you Don – meant to type Dan 🙂
No worries, I get that a lot on this blog 😉
😀 my gosh.. and that man up there? What was wrong with him? Drunken??
One too many, or missed his medication. It was only 6pm too.
😀 😀 😀 😀 pooooooor him!
Funny combination of pictures.(very nice and thoughtful, though) Almost the extremes that torment us.

That’s what I liked about that trip. A real contrast from the super wealthy to those with not so much luck.
Good point. Well taken.

Wish our sea side trips were this eventful. Loving the Ferrari 😉
Thanks for the reblog
What great photos!
Thanks.
Your beaches have their own allure, Don. Great shots.
Thanks Mark.
Haha the drunk gets me. I am also now hungry for macaroons!
Lucky I didn’t put the pics from the Brazilian steakhouse on there – unless you’re vegetarian of course.
No no no! I like my meat!!
I came across a boat once in the American desert, figured they were waiting for the next biblical flood. No water for hundreds of miles.
Was there a guy with a big beard waiting for the floods to come?
LOL! No. I was going to stop to take a picture, but apparently many people had the same idea, there was a sign on the highway $500 fine for stopping.
