Appologies – Behind On Comments

Dear readers, followers, friends, fellow bloggers et al …

I’m struggling to keep up with my comments at the moment (I answered over 400 yesterday). Danny has been helping to take some of the workload by posting some cool stuff and answering his comments. I’m still at my desk far too many hours and getting very little “me time”.

Sunsets do not photograph themselves, nor do beers drink themselves !

I love the chat and the social, everyone that knows me knows this, but there’s a balance, I can’t be doing good blogs if I’m tied up 24/7 commenting.

So I apologise if I didn’t reply, missed a comment and so I on. I didn’t do it on purpose, just please be patient.

PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT TAKE IT PERSONALLY I’M DOING MY BEST 🙂

I know what it’s like to be ignored by arrogant “big bloggers” and this in entirely not my intention. Although in fact I’m starting to have a little empathy with the workloads they have, and how it’s so easy to miss a comment or just not have the resources to reply to everyone.

I would like to see improvements in the commenting system on WordPress. I’m not using that as an excuse, but would really help my time management. At the moment it’s not possible to see *all* comments in one place, so I often miss replies from other blogs, because my notifications just move too fast. Also without a thread based conversation style interface, sometimes amongst 3…4…500 comments and 24 hours having passed I forget what we were talking about. Again sorry for this, I’m doing my best to manage time effectively 🙂

Warm regards

Don Charisma

    1. LOL, I get through them somehow, there’s 59 in the queue at the moment ! … and don’t worry I like people’s comments, just wanted to explain that not to take a delay personally …

    1. LOL, you get plenty Suz, to be honest I’m really not sure how you manage to get through the number of comments you make and reply to … very charismatic lady you are !

    1. I always reply you hun, how could I not … I heard you been busy with a challenge … thought you might like some of the “art” we did past couple of days, reminded me a little of your avatar, and perhaps the slightest of inspirations subconsciously 🙂

  1. Man, we know it. We appreciate all you’re doing with your great blog and, don’t worry, take your time. 🙂
    Bye!

  2. I don’t sweat that kind of stuff. I am sure that most of us like to have a social life, shop for cool outfits for our pets, and probably hold down some other job on top of that.

If blogging is someone’s only source of income and they are making buku bucks off it…then I humbly salute them. As for me…not happening!

  3. Sometimes it’s the pressure we put on ourselves unnecessarily by thinking we have to respond to every comment. While I have the luxury of doing that still as my blog isn’t humongous like yours, don’t sweat it Don. I won’t worry that something’s wrong and you don’t comment back. I comment for the person to hear. If I get one in return, great, if not, no sweat! I’m all about balance these days with this online stuff.

  4. I’m a a small blogger…finally got 400 followers! But even so, it is sometimes hard to keep up with them all and to reply and thank for following….I find the little notifications icon in the tool bar to be of great help. but it still takes time to read, hit keys, etc. and for heaven sake, don’t miss a beer!! 🙂

    1. I keep replying to everyone, can’t break the habit … there’s sunsets on my camera, they’ll be posted soon as I can … and thank you very understanding 🙂

  5. Hey, Don! Nice to get to contact you finally! Thanks for the follow, I really like your stuff as well. It’s touching to know that someone attempts to respond to every comment on their posts. That is a trait that is sadly lacking in modern content sharing sites.

I hope to see more of you in the future!

    1. Hey … and likewise 🙂 … very kind of you to say … I do my best I think blogging has gone social, and I think the most successful do reply and connect with everyone they can … see you soon I hope 🙂

  6. I wonder how anyone can keep up all the time, life happens & so do other commitments. Responding to all the comments you have, I can’t imagine. I would hope no one would ever hold that against you or anyone 🙂

    1. For sure, I think mostly people are understanding … If I leave them too long it’s almost impossible to catch up, so I give myself a few hours each day to get “up-to-date” ….

  7. Don, don’t sweat it. None of this is life threatening if a response doesn’t come out after a couple days. Not like someone’s waiting on a response to do brain surgery. Take your time, take a breath, do what you can, when you can.
