Paint – Don Charisma’s Prompt

Today’s prompt – “Paint”

Squiggles And Colours
Squiggles And Colours

PAINT

DO – Take your “squiggles” from yesterday’s art prompt and start to edit in your painting software. DO NOT think more than you need to, DO NOT plan. Pick any colours, the brighter and bolder the better, use paint bucket, brush, magic marker or spray can, which ever of these you like, any, some or all, up to you. Experiment. Do not edit, once you’ve painted don’t erase, just continue. Colour your “squiggles” in. Do this quickly, but without putting pressure on yourself, DO NOT think about it, just do it. Mine took 3-4 minutes maximum, it doesn’t need to take a long time. Do not copy mine, don’t even have it in front of you at the same time as you are painting.

The object is to enjoy the process not with a goal in mind. It’s not a perfection competition, it’s a having fun competition. Those who strive for perfection will be marked down. Those who strive for fun, not thinking about it and just doing it will be marked up. Be creative without working at it.

Follow my instructions closely, if you wish to learn something. The most important thing is to have fun doing it, be creative and spontaneous, there isn’t a right or a wrong way to do this prompt. AND do know I am only joking about marking people down 🙂

When your masterpiece is done, save as a .png file. Upload to your blog, link back to this post. Press PUBLISH.

Job done.

Write about it. Design it. Draw it. Paint it. Photograph it. Whatever it. Publish it. Job Done.

I will reblog or put in a post (or not) at my discretion – do it for fun and learning please 🙂

Cheers

Don Charisma

  1. I love this idea, Don! Are you actually going to give mini (or complete) art lessons? I love even little art projects. Have I missed anything before you gave scribble prompt? I’ll get started on that first thing in the morning. It’s funny really, I already feel like we’re friends. It’s nice.

    1. LOL, more just having some fun and trying to inspire some creativity/spontinaety … you can find all the prompts here https://doncharisma.org/tag/prompt

Some have been more writing orinted, art and paint were visually oriented … yesterday we had “fear” … and before all of that was “imagine” … don charisma’s black box and don charisma’s empty box …

  2. Thank you for this it a lovely Easter Monday afternoon activity for me and it’s also been the source of inspiration for tomorrow’s napowrimo entry so thanks twice – il be posting and pinging back tomorrow morning 🙂

and thanks again – it was quite an enjoyable exercise.

  3. I loved it, I’ve realised this non artistic person can make something that others like and see something in after all. I have time to look at the other entries now too. Great idea. Thank you.

    1. Thanks Jenny I saw the pingback … and like the new avatar:)

Is it OK to share on my blog ? I want to concentrate just on the prompt and a few other bits and pieces today, so I’ll repost rather than reblog it if that’s ok, obviously linking back and giving credit to you ?

      Cheers

      Don
