Today I decided to experiment with a “portrait” panorama/”tower panorama. I wanted to try and capture that feeling of awe of standing at the foot of a tall building and looking up. The subject is a hotel or apartment block near the beach.
From the position I was standing in there is no way I could have taken this shot (in one photo) with my iPhone 4s. What I love about panorama photography is the ability to capture more than what the camera will let you. Charismatic photography ?

Photos taken on iPhone 4s. I used PTGui Pro to stitch together the photos. Then Photoshop to crop and make minor adjustments like brightness and vibrance.
This what I’m calling a “tower panorama” is 10 photos taken in landscape orientation (2w x 5h). iPhone 4s photos are just under 8 mega-pixels, aspect ratio 4:3. PTGui “master” panorama is 6642×8866 pixels, a whopping nearly 59 mega-pixels !
Here’s the contact sheet, including the “raw” panorama from PTGui

Yes, Don, I can imagine the tower making me feel very small in real life. Great job with the camera!
Thanks dude … it is my first attempt, only thing I’d change is probably to make the image slightly taller next time:)
