Repost – Spider John Koerner – Rent Party Rag

In case you didn’t catch it the first time – here’s Spider John Koerner, one man and a guitar playing “Rent Party Rag”

Genre is kinda folk/blues, and it’s a long one 10 minutes

Cheers

  1. YOU WILL NEVER BELIEVE WHO I CAUGHT ON AN OLD NEWPORT FOLK FESTIVAL I WATCHED LAST NIGHT, DON. NONE OTHER THAN THE 1962 VERSION OF SPIDER JOHN DOING ONE OF HIS EARLIER SONGS. WISH I HAD WRITTEN THE NAME DOWN BUT I’LL WATCH IT AGAIN SOME TIME LATER. SEE YA!

  2. I’m of the wolf clan Don. The female rules the roost there. I also howl at the moon on occasion but usually don’t tell anyone about that part.

My favorite quote from Forrest Gump. I seem to always end up with the nuttier pieces but still have to try the whole box.

Still looking for the fun parts of living and seldom come up empty. People do the funniest things and never even know it.

    1. There’s plenty of fun to be had, just have to get oneself in the right frame of mind.

As for chocolate, I seem to be eating a lot of magnums recently (chocolate ice cream). I prefer the nutty ones 🙂

      1. I used to hate chocolate. Then craved it. Now can take it or leave it. Mostly just leave it except for the caramel ones which are my favorites. My jeans were getting snug so I have to cut out something!

      2. Mine just began to get snug. Probably because they have been too loose for so many years. A steady diet of chocolate, ice cream and potato chips does it every time

  3. Love it, Don. Never heard of a rent party before, being so shielded from the world but it’s a, hum, fun (?) idea. I would try that myself but most of the people I know are in worse shape than I am so it wouldn’t raise anything I would want to keep. I love that kazoo though! Haven’t heard one of those in such a long time that I’m not sure myself how long. good to see you again!

    1. Know what you mean, if I did a rent party, I’d end up with less money than I started with !

Kazoo is popular with some blues and folk artists – makes an interesting sound.

Hope you’re doing OK, good to hear from you.

      Cheers

      Don

      1. Learning to walk again so doing better. Right eye goes blind at times — most of the time, and can’t see very well from the left one but it sure makes people jump out of the way when I’m careening down the hall in my power chair!

I would also end up with less than I started with. I’m a sucker for a sob story and would end up giving them my furniture and anything else in the place they wanted. Life sure is funny!

        Have a lovely day.

      2. You sure are a warrior Angela, which is endearing actually.

And, yeah, know what you mean, life is sure funny.
