Durians

Durian is a tropical fruit, which in my opinion tastes pretty good. It’s not cheap either. However it does smell quite fowl, I guess a rotten fruit kind of smell …

A reader told me that they make ice-cream in Malaysia with Durian

Enjoy 😀

  1. They look like smaller versions of the pods in Invasion of the Body Snatchers, just breaking open to reveal the newly formed pod person. Eating them sounds okay, but don’t leave one under your bed. 🙂

  2. Actually, the fruit smells heavenly to some but not to others. Almost everyone in my family love the smell of durian, but my dad says it’s stink.

  3. I import fruits and vegetables from Thailand and Durian is always on my list, we do face issues with airlines because they refuse to load it due to its annoying smell so we always had to have special packaging for them. In the market here where I operate Durian is believed to have the same effects of Viagra, in fact they call it “natural viagra” so you can figure that it’s a hot seller 😉

  4. Durian is a common fruit especially in Asia. They say that this fruit smells like hell but tastes like heaven. The smell is apparently from sulfur, especially a rotten egg smell. The taste is somewhat like a custard but creamy. To wash the foul odor off, just use the shell of the empty fruit by filling it with water and wash your hands from it. Hope this helps.
