«Many people think that if they were only in some other place, or had some other job, they would be happy. Well, that is doubtful. So get as much happiness out of what you are doing as you can and don’t put off being happy until some future date.»

There’s a reason for us to deal with the NOW. make the most of it and it will reap rewards for us later on,if not sooner.
I love my job and I’m passionate about writing. I enjoy vacationing and being somewhere else too and writing allows me to do that. I can write myself to any place in the world or sell a story or article and take myself there! If you like writing, then check this out! The Writer’s Monthly Review Print Edition is available FREE online one week – see it here – want to subscribe, email marcies04@yahoo.com.

If we all could wear green glasses now, wouldn’t be so hard, to see how green the grass is in our own back yard.
Great quote and great advice!
True and agree
I actually think i disagree with this quote. I don’t have a writing based job and sometimes it bores the living daylights out of me. When you have a creative mind and an analytical job, things can get a little….mind-numbing. Instead of finding the pleasure in my job, i took to writing in my spare time to balance this out. This, in turn, has led me to investigate the possibility of moving roles to one that better suits my creativity. I don’t see anything wrong with thinking you could be better somewhere else, or doing something else, but you have to go out there and make the changes. Sitting daydreaming about better times won’t make you happy, but going out there and getting what you want from life instead of settling for what you have sounds like much better advice to me than just learning to live with what you have.
I’d like to quote a line from the pinnacle of family entertainment, Cool Runnings. “A gold medal is a wonderful thing, but if you’re not enough without it, you’ll never be enough with it” – Irving Blitzer (John Candy RIP)
I LOVE that movie! also, i agree with THAT quote. That’s helped me look at this in a different way. Thanks!
It’s an awesome movie isn’t it 🙂
