That kinda reminded me of Viktor Frankl. 🙂
😀
I love Tony Robbins and what he says.
It comes down to “As the thinker thinks, the prover proves”. That is the thinker is the conscious mind and the prover is the subconscious. We are the summation of our thoughts.
Very much … I studied him a little in days of yore, and he’s very charismatic … in my opinion too !
Surely this is gibberish, or diminished responsibility wouldn’t hold up in a a court of law. “Making tea alleviates a symbolic representation of silence”.
My guess is that a logical semantic interpretation wouldn’t help to understand the meaning. As for holding up in a court of law, well it’s an opinion, and options are not facts, nor are they the truth. So I think that that is unlikely.
Some are, and we can reach them through critical thinking.
But don’t you think sometimes we’re powerless over what we do? I mean by default we do them without been conscious of them?
Anything is possible, this is an opinion … my interpretation of the meaning here, is that we can through discipline be in control of our thoughts and therefore whether external things have power over us or not … I won’t say that’s an “easy” thing … also many perceive that things outside have power over them … usually these things are a matter of perception …
Tony Robbins; a really good friend of mine said to me a few months bcd to read his thinking. I had asked him to tell me one person that I he would recommend. He said Tony Robbins. Great choice!
Some don’t like Tony, I think they’re envious of his success. Personally I enjoyed a couple of his books, and he’s a very good motivator 😀
Yes, agreed. My friend is a top level sports coach, with an MSc in Psychology, and he swears by him. As he said to me, some academics talk about motivating people with each other and writing papers on it , all the while looking down on Robbins, where as Robbins himself helps and motivates millions through his work.
People work on emotions, so academics don’t really get it.
Tony weaves everything together with American culture, so he’s great for Americans … I get most of it, even being from UK, I found him easy to understand … bottom line – I take the approach of taking what I find useful and throwing away the rest …
Tony read a lot of books himself, so a lot of ideas are not new, just polished and honed. They are often from past masters so just as valid as they were in the past …
However Tony hasn’t been free from scandal, successful people always have haters, that’s life !
