De nada 😀
Definitely a good ethos to have in life. Put yourself next to people to learn about their understanding – in some things they will teach you and in others – you will teach them.
We are quick to presume that we are the ones teaching and sometimes we are…but most frequently – we are the student – BECAUSE everything teaches us something…IF we can SEE it.
There in lies the conundrum – if we are willing to be taught – we must also be willing to teach.
And if we are to do that – we must be open to giving others the benefit of the doubt – either over their knowledge, or lack of it. Patience in learning and in teaching – but you cannot learn if you think you already know – and you cannot teach if you think you know it all already. And to judge another by our preconceived notions or perceptions of them either by our initial resumption or interaction with them is dangerous to our own learning. Too be scared to be ourselves is also problematic – because in being ourselves we are best equipped to teach whatever lesson it is that those who cross our paths may need…even if it means they will think we are an idiot for it.
People come and go -but the life lessons they bring take a while to absorb – and can alter our perception for a lifetime – we will see how we have been graced with knowledge from most unlikely sources.
Couldn’t have put it better myself Belinda …
Thanks for helping me maintain my edge, Don.
You’re welcome Ann, glad to be a facilitator in all things to do with edges …
