When it rains in Thailand you often hear explosions. These are the power transformer blowing a gasket, quite dramatically, with a loud bang and a cloud of smoke. Is it any wonder when the cables are laid out like this !
I took this shot for Suz, because she’d prefer not to see them in photos … how the hell do I Photoshop that lot out !

Taken in Thailand Nov-2013

Want to hear something funny?
During our lunch break today, my boss was sharing photos with me taken on her recent holiday to Thailand. I asked her one photo was taken and she replied “Oh, that’s Bangkok. Would you look at those power lines? Aren’t they unbelievable?”.
I just burst out laughing 🙂
LOL that is funny, and I guess we’re ahead of the curve on that one … did you tell her you’d already seen some pictures of power lines ?
Certainly did. She had some amazing photos. I was pretty jealous actually. 🙂
It’s a colourful place, plenty to take photos of !
Can you even see the sky with all of those cables? Personally, I love watching them blow out, even though it is inconvenient. They look like fireworks on the 4th of July. I’ve seen photos of the cables in different parts of Asia before, and wonder if they are required because all of our tech help comes from there now.
There are lots of places when you can see the sky ! I like to be at a safe distance when the power cables blow … bit like last night random people setting off fireworks and I saw some very close to accidents … went to take some pictures and realised a rather loud firework going off close by, just walked in the opposite direction, I like my health !
I could probably photoshop the sky but getting to the buildings would be a nightmare! rofl
And I’m touched that I made a blog post title on someone else’s blog!! 🙂 🙂
I love to work on what I’m presented with, sometimes I can turn a negative into a positive … I really couldn’t believe the state of the power cables when i first came to thailand, now I don’t notice them so much and can even make cool photos with them !
