Spirit, Unconquered – Invictus

This man, the author, suffered tremendously will severe health problems, but his courage and spirit are an inspiration

Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

( sorry – feeling wicked under a near full moon)
Know what? I have not seen the movie. But the mans life had a HUGE influence on me Don. MOTHER big. We called him Baba – a lot of us called him Baba. (father)… I never cry when ‘celebs’ pass… I did that day – for the good, the sad…the legacy. Yeah I will go on if I do not stop there…

      2. Enlightening, I haven’t talked to any saffers about how they felt about Mandela, so thanks for cluing me in … the movie is well worth watching recommended, along with Team America … so get downloading or lovefilm’ing or dvd shop 😀

      3. …sigh…yes… I DO need to do something about this in the near future! Truly though..maybe I am just not that into movies any more??

      5. Seems like 97% effort and and 3% luck … a lot of effort invested and then I’ll find such a simple solution I kick myself … c’est la vie … and real world … hmmm, that’s a very personal I think !

      6. It is how it is at times. At least you got it there eventually.
Is sunny sky a personal thing? Sorry.

Hey ho – and shit happens – again.

      7. …reading this made me nostalgic hey… I just searched my old posts for Mandiba – and went and read them.
