  1. Don, thanks for following my blog “Through the Trees” at carringtontarr.wordpress.com. I’ve enjoyed looking through your posts, especially the ones on blogging. Your writing is informative and you maintain a nice tone. Well done!

    1. I’ve been around a bit and have learned to enjoy my ever changing life, I get tired, but rarely bored … you are welcome, please do keep in touch, warm regards DC

  2. thanks for dropping by artcalling and deciding to follow. Welcome.

I like how you’ve presented your diverse interests and professional experience here, how you’ve done it visually as well as by ‘In the thought realm’, In the practical realm’, etc.
I’ve had a long career spread out across different disciplines, this would be a good way to do them all justice without looking like a ‘Jill of all trades,….’

See szoutewelle.wordpress.com if you are interested in how I handle it now.
    cheers,
    Sarah

    1. I have dropped in on you and had a look around, you have some very beautiful work and obviously very talented … I think it’s good to have a few static pages, but don’t forget the twitter generation and those with little time will probably want it concise and on one page, the blogname/about page is where people will seek. Also, it might be worth considering putting some of you work out on posts, at least to highlight the fact that you have some exquisite pages … Some people don’t like “advice” so I’ll stop there.

I am honestly very honoured to have “met” someone so visually talented, I really love you work … do keep in touch. DC

      1. Don, I appreciate your taking the time to look at my work. Your advice is very constructive and valued.

I agree with you about those with little time. My work takes huge amounts of time- it is Slow art if you will, and I think I’d rather have 5 people like you who take the time to look, than 500 who zip by on their i phones for a quick Twitter- sized bite.

I am curious though what you mean about putting some of my work out on posts- oh, you mean on my portfolio site, using the blog part as well? I do all that on artwell.wordpress.com but it is a good suggestion to make this site more dynamic, and I’ll consider it.
thanks for your warm response to my work,Don.
        Sarah

      2. Looks like you have it in hand, I’ve added you on artwell.wordpress.com also 🙂 Let me know if you have any specific questions … warm regards DC

    1. You are welcome, lovely to hear from you … I think the main thing is to keep it interesting and enjoyable for yourself, that will make other people want to visit:) warm regards DC

  3. Thanks for the visit to my blog and following me. I’ve read your posts that you’ve posted as a guest blogger on OM’s blog. I enjoyed your writing style and just got to lazy to to log into my wordpress account to follow your blog sooner (My phone not liking wordpress was part of it as well).

    1. You are most welcome and it’s great to hear from you … doesn’t really matter how we got in touch, just that we are … hope you will find useful and enjoyable things here … warm regards DC

  4. Hi Don Charisma. Well I had to scroll to china to find this reply box, but I’m motivated. Thanks for the follow. Since you visited my site, you know i’m hoping to reach a zillion people to vote for one of my pictures on BH photo photography contest. I though maybe you could ask your 6000+ followers to drop by and give me a vote! Please use your charimsa to send Jeanne to Africa!!

Seriously, lots of great stuff on your site and I enjoyed poking around. Maybe I need to change the name of my blog – or in addition to posting pictures I should do some writing too. and figure out what’s the best day for posting (thursday?) So you’re inspiring me that anything is possible if we can find the right way .. .

    Thanks for the follow
    Cheers!

    1. Hey Jeanne, it’s great to hear from you, and thanks for taking time to have a look around on my blog … Not sure I can help you with promotions, but maybe, a good start would be to get a link on your gravatar to your website or send me a link …

I reckon blogs should be multi-purpose so yes, a good idea to try out different things that you enjoy.

      You are welcome

      Warm regards

      DC

  5. Hello Don, welcome to the blog The Milk Is White – or where that page leads – although I seem to recall having welcomed you somewhere before. Would this be correct?

  6. yo, you know when you spoke directly to me I was surprised- you were saying good shit- that ‘i stood up to you without picking a fight’ and that I was ‘working with my feelings’ which made sense to me and hadn’t occured to me. But your blog as it stands I don’t really enjoy. Your voice is very different from when you’re talking one to one. You’re all about promoting and I can’t be fucked with it. Also, 50 pictures of the same buddah statue clogging up my feed is quite annoying, you must admit. So just unfollow me, I know you don’t really give a shit about reading my once a month at best update and I don’t want any antagonism in my vicinity either. It ain’t right. C’mon. Feel free to check back in on me some time (and I’ll do likewise) but I don’t want someone following me just to be mean.

    1. Dude, thanks for your feedback.
However at the end of the day it’s my blog and I’ll put whatever I want to on it. Also I’ve never asked you for your feedback. If you don’t like it then press the unfollow button as I wrote here – https://doncharisma.org/2013/10/13/what-is-charisma-by-don-charisma-with-a-little-help-from-richard-branson/
I don’t recall having a “private” conversation with you. All blog comments are public. I tried to be helpful and positive, that is generally where I’m coming from as a human being. However, I don’t act the same when respect isn’t shown. This is normal well adjusted adult behaviour.
I really don’t have time to be playing “games” around follows, I find this petty and boring. So no antagonism meant or intended. Facebook maybe that’s the norm, WordPress it’s abnormal as far as I am concerned. There is a great community of inspiring, creative and positive people here and I am certain that most would agree with me.
And you are right, best we go our separate ways, as I don’t see anything positive or useful for me in any continued conversations.
      Sincerely

      Don Charisma

  7. Dearest Don Charisma, you are truly a renaissance man, which I think is awe-inspiring and just plain inspiring. Thanks for the follow, I shall do the same, and look forward to what we have in store for each other! ;-D Jamy

    1. Awesome, I do have some more in the pipeline, but have to balance all the things I’m doing and got quite involved in my iPhone photography as you can probably tell … do keep in touch, warm regards DC

  8. Hi Don: Thanks for stopping by Bookshelf: for the intellectually curious and posting “likes” and the follow. Great to meet a fellow designer across the pond. Appreciate your charismatic outlook and sense of humor. Look forward to reading your posts. Cheers. Alex
