Home is where the heart is – or is it – Heart is where home is ?

Many of us try to fill a void
A hole in our soul
With that one thing, or things, that will make us complete
But, we seem to continually miss the point
The hole in our soul is just where our real home is
Or for those like me, where it needs to be established and maintained
People said to me, “don’t think so much”
And, they are sort of right, it’s a pointer to the point
I don’t think this “inner peace” can be brought about by thinking
I need to look into my heart, and find my home, every single day
Some won’t understand
Because they already know and have forgotten, or know and can’t explain
Or, they’ll never learn, no use in disturbing them, perhaps lead by example
Or, they’re still on their journey of learning, how to, be
I fall amongst the later
Not saying there’s not pain and suffering to face
Just that there is a cure inside, to be more comfortable in one’s own skin
And maybe catharsis for much of life’s self-inflicted suffering

I need to look into my heart, and find my home, every single day
Until this becomes part me

And, then back to the affray, which comes every day, a more capable person
Add discipline, maybe if I reach for the stars, I’ll get to the moon
This is not really meant for you, but if it helps you, I’m happy

If you’re wiser than I, can write it better, go ahead, and link back to me, I’d love to read it.

  1. Loved the visual. It took a while to accept our new house as home, but with my two cats, husband, and daughter and her family to visit, it’s just right now.

    1. Thanks, took me a few tries to get somewhere near to what I wanted to say visually, AI seems to struggle with the esoteric – as do I often !

      Glad you’re all settled 🙂

      1. I think it’s basically Google’s Nano Banana – which is free to use in a lot of places – I got a year of Perplexity Pro free via Paypal/Venmo, offer is still open until end of the year.
