«There is nothing training cannot do. Nothing is above its reach. It can turn bad morals to good morals; it can destroy bad principles and re-create good ones; it can lift men to angelship.»

thanks !
Both the post and the comments are really hitting home for me. For the past half-year I’ve been neglecting my study of the French language. I know that training, discipline, perseverance are key. I enjoyed the progress I did make. It is, though, motivation, desire, and will that are the hand which must hold and turn the key.
By the way, Don, thanks for your Follow of warriorsvsdsv (and wordverseuniverse); much appreciated.
Cheers 🙂
Christine
You’re very welcome Christine … sometimes it’s an idea to take a break from something were the motivation is in short supply, come back recharged and refreshed 😀
So true, Don. Thanks for that!
YW
There needs to be a lot more training going on.
True say that 😀
Yes. Don, I have found the same with learning, funny enough, German. I hour a day I did almost without fail for 2 years…..and hey, even the grammar is okay. People couldn’t understand why I did not take weekends off!!! Regards, Carla.
Well done … and hopefully I’ll be able to speak Thai in a couple of years, still just learning the phonetics for the words … I have enough Thai to make myself understood, will be cool when I can have a “real” conversation !
It is true! It happened to me when I started studying German. At first, it seemed impossible to me and I felt so discouraged that I was about to give up. But I really wanted to learn it, and then I went to the library every day, studying a lot… and now, after three years, I can speak it. Training and will are everything… but it’s not an easy path to follow.
Congrats, and well done really … and yes we CAN succeed if we just don’t quit and realise that it’s not always easy and takes effort … I’m learning Thai at the moment, just conversational, and share all of what you’ve written … I keep going to class, learn a little more each time, eventually like you one day I’ll be having a fluid conversation and won’t think of the “hardships” along the way.
