Subscriber Maintenance – DonCharisma.org Blog

We made a commitment to follow back anyone who follows the DonCharisma.org blog. It’s a commitment we intend to keep.

However from time to time we need to have a clear out of inactive blogs that we’re following. People do leave WordPress.com would you believe it !

WordPress will only allow to us to view a couple of thousand blogs at a time via the reader, so we’re unable to see the entire list now that we’re 30000+ subscribers. We just have to do the best we can with the tools afforded to us …

Long story short, we’ll be unfollowing *ALL* blogs we’re currently following … then refollowing you. Your patience during this process is appreciated, it’s a one off process we hope we won’t have to repeat for many months.

In the unlikely event we miss you in this process, please do feel free to make us aware, it’s entirely unintentional 😀

You can help us in the process by keeping your gravatar up-to-date with your current primary blog. The main settings that need to be kept up-to-date are in the WordPress.com reader – https://wordpress.com/settings/account/ … aside from helping us, it makes it easier for potential subscribers to your blog to find and follow you, and potentially you get more visits to your site from any comments you make on other blogs. It also gives you free links back to your blog, which will help you get found on Google, Yahoo etc. So consider this also an SEO tip 😀

Thank you *ALL* for your support of the DonCharisma.org blog, we’re looking forward to many happy times ahead. The best is yet to come.

Warm regards

Don

  1. Oh I just saw this and I want to let you know I am active, just haven’t posted in, err, a mont or more? Thank you for following me by the way!

    1. Thanks for letting us know 😀 … and do post when you feel like it, we do !

You’re welcome, if you’re a subscriber we’ll be following you back shortly …

      Warm regards

  2. Wow! 30K! I couldn’t do it. my reader is hard enough to keep on top of now. no worries. not unfollowing you anytime soon. I go to blogs on a fairly regular basis and follow on ALL the social media connected to the blog. You’re one of only a handful of bloggers who have followed on all of mine. Stuff like that counts, even among people who rarely chat 🙂 Keep Calm and I am (still) not Freshly Pressed, lol.

    1. LOL, I’m sure you could, talented fella like yourself 😀 … and rarely or not we do chat, which is cool with me … and good luck with pressly freshed, I do know plenty who have been 😀

  3. Inactivity leaves an open door for frustration. It follows you in your sleep. Taking action to be a strong candidate to meet life and make choices is one to guarantee a profitable future.

  4. Just so you know I’m still active. And I understand cleaning house. I’ve been doing it on my twitter account. And I don’t like gravatars either..Hope to see you soon.. 🙂

  5. There’s been too much not-so-good stuff going on in the last few months for me to be on here regularly, so I hope I don’t lose Charisma as well. 😉

    1. Oh, I’m sorry to hear that my friend, hope things will improve, do my best to inspire and motivate here 😀 … and no you don’t seem to have lost any charisma, still as charming as ever LOL

    1. Kinda, but more like farewell, I’ll see ‘ya on the flip side 😀 … all is well, and apologies I haven’t been in touch, life has it’s demands and commitment for me, sometimes more than other times … sure it’s same for you … hope you’re well too 😀

  6. Whenever my follower count drops I lock myself away in a darkened room and sob uncontrollably for several days.

    1. 😀 … it’s actually slightly less than 2k, 1986 … the irrelevant shit I know astonishes me sometimes !

And yes bloggers do move on to different things … and also new people start blogging too 😀

      1. Yes that can happen, I remember what gumtree was like in the UK (quite useful) prior to ebay buying it, and afterwards, well not so great really … I probably setup my tumblr site after yahoo got involved, and don’t use it more than a syndicate site if I’m honest … WP have done some great things, and I hope they will continue to 😀

  7. Just a note to let you know I’m still active :), to make it easier to know who to refollow.
Good luck with such a lengthy and pain in the butt process.

      1. I hate Gravatar! I want to find the person’s blog, not a picture! lol
I don’t know how long it’s been but I still haven’t figured that sight out past updating it once in a while.
