  1. Hi Don, thanks for introducing yourself by following our site. Yours is wise, witty and slightly wicked–we look forward to exploring it further. By the way, we invite you to visit the RAXA Collective facebook page too. See you there…

  2. Hi Don – nice to meet you – you are a fascinating and multifaceted being with a very cool blog. Thank you for your visit and follow at art rat cafe – I am honoured….

    1. Hey John thansks for your kind comments and following my blog:) I’ve left you a comment direct on my blog. I’ve just finished my second portrait cartoon, when I’ve posted it, be useful to get any feedback or tips, as I’m still learning, devil is in the detail!

  3. Somewhere along the line things are getting messed up. I think you responded to my first comment but it got treated somehow as a post on my blog and I was asked to moderate it. Since it was obviously a reply to my comment here, and not a comment to my blog post, I deleted it. I had asked to be notified of any follow-up comments on my earlier comment and I guess that somehow your comment here got forwarded to my blog. WordPress identified your comment as a comment on my Post “About” which I don’t have such a post or even category. If you were intending to have the comment attached to one of my posts, I am sorry for deleting it, I like comments and conversations about what I say.

  4. Thank you for following my little blog. I love the book, The Way of the Peaceful Warrior too! Have you seen the movie? Look forward to read more from you. 🙂

    1. Hey Joanne, thansk for your kind comments and following my blog:) A very dear friend recommended peaceful warrior books, and very happy that she did. I’m more of a movie person that a book person, I love what they do with the visuals and audios to deliver the message. SO yes I’ve seen the movie and read the books (a rare thing for me). It’s a bit cliche but the book has more to offer than the movie, I guess moviemakers have limited resources and viewer attention spans to contend with ! Cheers Don Charisma

    1. Hey Angie, thankyou for your kind words and following my blog, I’ve left a comment direct on your blog:) … I’m looking for a Mac and Cheese recipe with cornflour and rice flour, could you help ? Also I’m without oven, so have to be baked on a hob on a slow heat or grilled in a microwave (with grill), any ideas on how to do that ?

      1. Ooooohhhh! I love a challenge! But first I need to know of any other dietary restrictions ( besides the obvious wheat thing).

Have you tried brown rice Pasta? It’s my favourite alternative to wheat. I use the Tinkyada brand. Closest to wheat that I’ve tried.

I’ll be waiting to hear from you!

        Cheers!

      2. Hey Angie, I’m vegetarian … ish … I don’t actually have any wheat intolerance or anything like that (as far as I know) … it’s expensive to buy wheat flour here and I figured you might know how to cook mac’n’cheese without wheat flour… also might be a good blog article ? … looking around at recipes I’ve seen on the web and my own tastes I reckon mustard and garlic would go well well with the cheese. Let me know 😉

  5. Hello, thanks for passing by and following my blog. I do find your blog inspiring and particularly, I love your “about page”…what you said about the three rules of life. Enjoy 🙂

  16. Thank you for following my blog. I love your site. I am new to blogging and don’t have a lot of experience with source code. I’ve joined the Affiliate program with Amazon and have not been able to figure out how to use the html code they provide (aside from text) on my blog. I am going to try using the information on source code you provided to see if that works. Do you have any other suggestions?

    1. my pleasure and thank you so much for your kind words …

please confirm this elsewhere, but it’s my understanding that you need a paid blog if you want to do any kind of selling from it (ie adsense or Amazon affiliates) … *but please confirm this elsewhere* … I tried to add Amazon affiliates to my blog (a free blog) and couldn’t do it the same as you …

I’ve added you on my links –> friends, you doing the same helps people find our blogs 🙂

      Keep in touch …

      Cheers

      Don Charisma

      1. Thanks for getting back to me. You can add Amazon Affiliate links, but only the text. So what I’ve been doing is just adding them at the end of any article for people who might be interested in purchasing a book based on a post. (Zealot by Reza Aslan was popular.)

I’ve added you to blogs I follow on my site. Is that different from friends?

      2. I’ve added a “friends” category in my links and link to everyone that follows me … if others do the same google may see it as a reciprocal link which helps us get found in google – this is the thinking behind it 🙂

Thanks for the affiliates tip, i will probably go paid soon so have more scope to include my own adverts

  17. Thanks for your blog. It’s varied, interesting andinspiring, without being too overpowering or stuffed over the top.. just right.

You know my blog. It’s a different type of beastie altogether, more of a collection of short stories from life to read on the train, at the kitchen table over a Sunday morning coffee, or of a quiet evening at home. Therefore, and I can quite appreciate this, the following for my sort of blog is always going to be somewhat limited. Having seen what I do, can you help advise me how to start to increase readershio beyond my immediate friends/family and a handful of interested bloggers?

    Thank you 🙂

    1. Hey Uncle Spike, my pleasure and thanks for your kind words …

In terms of promoting your blog, there are many things you can do, here are some ideas :

      1. Make the most of your “tags” aka “keywords”, more is good, these will help you get found in google. Label all photos meaningfully google finds these too.
      2. Be friendly with other bloggers, follow related blogs, like their articles and make meaningful comment.
      3. Consider using IFTTT to distribute your content onto other sites such as facebook, twitter, linkedin etc
      4. Be persistent and realise that building an audience takes time and effort
      5. Write meaningful content and keep at it (see 4 above !)
      6. Monitor your site stats and see what articles get the most reads. If you want you could write more articles on the hot topics, this will get more interest
      7. Reblog the occasional article, this helps with links
      8. Put links on your posts and on your blog. Where there is a reciprocal link this will help.
      9. Be creative, leverage your skills and time, think of new ideas and implement them. There is plenty of advice out there on promoting yourself, so take the time to look around, try things.

      Hope this is useful.

      Sincerely
      Don Charisma

      1. my pleasure mike, main thing is persistence and effort with a sprinkle of creativity and passion, keep on chipping away at it and the rewards will come, if that makes sense !

    1. Kop Khun Karb 🙂 I’ve left you a little present on your about page, happy to see that I’m not the only one that’s hot and human !

I’ve added you on my links –> friends, Cheers

      Don Charisma

  18. Thanks Don for stopping by and following my blog. Hope you learn something useful, as I intend to do same, by joining this blogging world.

      1. Thanks for adding me to the friend’s list. That’s nice idea.

btw, do you know what’s the best app for WordPress to use on Android ? I downloaded WordPress, but most of its features don’t work, saying connection error, except Reader, Stats, Comments. I posted query on WordPress support forum, but didn’t get reply past 3 weeks.
        tc.
        Shuja

      2. Hey Shuja,

My pleasure, from my understanding of SEO it helps us get found on google, especially if you reciprocate … and presumably anyone doing a blog would want to get found !

Can’t help on the Android I’m afraid, I got myself all Apple’ed up with iPad and iPhone, so don’t have any android device. Since Steve Jobs passed, Apple has gone downhill, so next upgrade I’ll be looking at Samsung/Android, in fact already bought a Samsung laptop and very pleased with it.

        TC same …

        Don Charisma

      3. Alright. I also attached my blog site with Google and Microsoft search engines, and naturally many people land on my blog now through search.

Regarding Android, you’re right, I also read that Samsung recently overtook iPhone in market share worldwide. They’re already famous for TV. Guess, they’re doing good research.

      1. Italians know how to live. So hard to choose a favorite. Ok ~ Positano. No wait ~ Regello. But then, in Bellaggio…Oh, Elba… See, we’re like Garibaldi with a fork 🙂

      2. Pizza, I’ve already chosen … Italian’s yup food is great, style they know a thing about, language sounds tuneful one of the nicest around especially in contrast to German, but never really found the women much fun:(

  19. Thank you Don for following my blog, I appreciate it a lot! Yours looks inspiring and informative! I will take time to have a better look around.

  20. My sir, we are talented and can turn one’s hand to anything, a never say never kind of attitude. Impressed. Came over to say thanks so much for the follow, really appreciated and hope you like most of what is to come. Cheers and now to check you out further, MM 🍀
