Don, I just added you to a Twitter list I am building called “Friendly Bloggers.” Dropping you a heads-up because I looked at your Twitter timeline and I am not sure how much attention you pay to Twitter. This is a list of bloggers who have shown the Krewe of Part Time Monster kindness or collegiality. You have certainly done that.

    You are on it because we appreciate your comments and other interactions. We see how much attention you pay to your threads and we see what you do with your awards. This is our way of saying thanks for the Not Freshly Pressed award, which we will enjoy forever even if we all get Freshly Pressed and have to remove the badge (one of us already has, hehe.)

    It is you who showed us the power of pingbacks.

    1. Hey Gene-O, I don’t get on twitter that much, but do monitor and pay attention. It’s challenging to keep up with all the messages on the blog, so one social network keeps me busy !

      Twitter is my favourite of other networks, so I will gradually learn how to use better 🙂 Could you tell me how I can add myself to the list ?

      And I appreciate your friendship too, it’s not a one way street, the people are what makes blogging great fun not the blog itself.

      1. I added you. If you go to your connections, you should see that I added you to a list. If not, go to @Sourcererblog and find my list “Friendly Bloggers.” It is a public list with about 20 bloggers of all sizes that have done me good turns in the last three months. You should be able to subscribe to it, and follow everyone on it if you wish. It is a list for bloggers who take the time to respond to me, or who join my little collaboration network I am building. It will grow. Sourcerer’s twitter account is really just for helping bloggers find bloggers. I’ll move my personal profile off that account soon and brand it with my page art.

      4. The fact that you are following so few people, and have so many followers, is a read advantage to you. Since you don’t interact on Twitter but you do pay attention, it is probably to your advantage to only follow people who add you to lists of bloggers, and then follow most of the bloggers on those lists. Bloggers will follow you back, and as long as you don’t unfollow and keep being a real person, they will not unfollow you, for the most part. You could build a huge Twitter following of bloggers starting today, just by only following bloggers. (I am just figuring this stuff out myself, and some bloggers on Twitter are being nice enough to help me out).

      Likes for me are a way of gauging whether I’m getting it right or not in my follower’s eyes. Comments are more for connecting with followers.

      Good to have made contact, I have a regular bunch of 200-300 people who actively comment and engage me, but takes effort on both sides 🙂
