  1. I came across the above quotation several years ago, and like you, I was given to understand that the source was Albert Einstein. However, that attribution is apparently incorrect. Its first known appearance in the form quoted, according to Quoteinvestigator.com (and other sources) is found in a 1963 book by sociologist William Bruce Cameron. Regards.
