«Success is doing what you want to do, when you want, where you want, with whom you want, as much as you want.»
— Tony Robbins

By this definition, contentedly being a functioning drug addict is success haha
Good luck with that …
I agree with swo8. Success is a balance between self and others. I believe that this life is a test, to see whether we will do all things asked of us. Success in this life will be determined by whether we have proven ourselves worthy of living with God in the life after this.
I don’t agree with Leslie, as per my reply …
I’m not sure that is the basis of success. It’s rather self indulgent. Who is this Tonny Robbins anyway?
Leslie
These things are subjective Leslie … what’s your definition of success ? Never doing what you want, someone else always deciding when, where and with whom and how much … that’s not really mine, but each to their own …
As for who … in a word – Google …
You are right that success is different for everyone. Always doing what you want regardless of the needs of others can be a bit self indulgent and may not lead to happiness if that is your basis of success.
Leslie
Agreed Leslie … Robbins I think is talking more about freedom than success, but for some that’ll be the same thing …
Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think Robbins said anything about ignoring the needs of others, that’d be what you read between the lines … also there’s a balance between our own needs and that of others … I do feel quite strongly against things like slavery and for, pro, freedom, hence my original response …
I don’t believe in slavery either, but the calls of maternity can be very demanding and you really have to put others before yourself in this case. Perhaps that is where I’m coming from.
