Every truth passes through three stages before it is recognized. In the first, it is ridiculed. In the second, it is opposed. In the third, it is regarded as self evident.

  1. Yes interesting Don and with some truth but God’s Truth often remains rejected to the peril of those who do so but it is their choice.

Arthur Schopenhauer although he believed in love affairs also said ….. Marrying means to grasp blindfolded into a sack hoping to find an eel amongst an assembly of snakes.”

God tells us the opposite, when Marriage is His way not shaped by worldly Mankind’s thinking and actions. I know whom I believe.

    1. HEy Anne, I like the Schopenhauer quote about marrying actually, thanks for sharing – something in the still present cynic resonated with it !

But agreed it’s a pretty cynical/negative point of view, there are plenty of more enlightened ones 😀

      1. Well I hope Don you squash that cynic in you, if not I’m glad I won’t be your wife, Male Chauvinism is the pits but than so are woman’s liberation fanatics too

You are right there are many more positive ones as shown below …

Proverbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Proverbs 18:4 The words of a man’s mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.

Psalm 49:3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

Proverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

      2. Thanks, I like to “keep my hand in” on cynicism, suits my sense of humour … how else would I relate to cynics if I didn’t ?

As for the battle of the sexes main conclusion I came to was to stay out of it … each side is as bad as the other, six of one and half a dozen of the other, and a whole lot of vanity and pride in between 😀

Love thy neighbour … know thyself … can’t cite where they came from LOL

        Cheers

        Don

      3. God created men Don to be in Loving Authority and Leadership and woman to be their cherished Helpmates but not just to wash up and have their Children but physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, to be a support and offer encouragement and to willingly submit to them in their Love for God and them but Wow they do indeed both mess up wanting their own agenda, including some in the Church.

From Scripture – Love thy Neighbor as thyself and yes our enemies too but this is not about fleshy egotistical love or Saccharin sweet love that leaves a bitter aftertaste but a wholesome respect for who we are and why we are, which promotes sacrificial Love.

OK Don good idea, I think I will murder someone so I can relate to them, No I couldn’t do that perhaps just rob a bank, thieves need understanding too!

        Blessings – Anne
