    It’s sad not to have friends, but it’s more sad no to have enemys because the person who haven’t enemys… means that haven’t talent that shades, or goods that covet, or character to impress, or feared value, nor honnor which mutter or any good thing to be envied. 😀

    Winston and Hamilton understood the value of being earnest and honorable. It takes grit to stand sometimes, all by oneself, but sometimes it’s only because others fear being outcast. If you believe in something honorable, it is worth traveling to the mount to shout!

  23. This is so true! My hubby rustles a few feathers out there for standing up to what he knows is right within the workforce. People are so intimidated that they fall into that rage of jealousy and that mindset of “you know nothing, I know everything”. And yet, he is the most easiest person you can get on with but he doesn’t give a damn.

  27. I sure did! In my business actually! I think people fight for their business in a way that Mothers fight for their children!

      1. I was surprised by what I was prepared to sacrifice to make the business work and the level of passion which it aroused in me. I did the business, but not the children, it was all consuming and I do not know how anyone could do both. Mind you, my business was in hospitality and catering. In that trade, there is no space for a life outside.

  31. Winston Churchill said some amazing things. One of my favorites is “If you’re going through Hell, keep going.” Another one I like is when, during WW2 some officers suggested cutting the national arts budget to contribute to the war effort, he responded “Then what are we fighting for?” Absolutely brilliant.
