Make it snow! ON MY BLOG :)

I was looking around on the WordPress theme blog and it started snowing …

I wondered if I could do it, and after giving up trying to figure it out from the html code, I came across this :-

It’s an annual WordPress.com holiday tradition: as of December 1st, you can have snow falling on your site! While the real stuff might be hard to deliver via The Interwebz, our special snow will fall gracefully down your screen wherever you are. To activate Holiday Snow, just follow these steps:

  1. Go to your dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Settings → General.

  3. Check the box next to “Show falling snow on this blog.”

On the page there are some other suggestions for customizing your blog for the holiday season …

Have Fun, Enjoy, Don Charisma

  1. Useful advice, maybe I will let my blog snow…a bit nearer yule! Thanks for the follow – had a browse of your blog, you are prolific and engaging – look forward to reading more 🙂

  2. Don, you’re amazing! Thanks for the snow, and the follow 🙂 It’s too cold to snow here (19 degrees) but anything is possible…

      1. Well…except for the lack of clouds. They keep predicting it, but further out each time – next Sunday, then Tuesday, etc. Breaking my kid’s heart 😉

      1. Oh wait! I thought snowball fights are more about the fun, than the fight!? But what do I know?… I’m a homegrown Floridian! We don’t do snow, we do Christmas day flip flops! Cheers!

  3. I’m with some of the others on this – when I first noticed it on a blog, it freaked me out a little. I have a new laptop and I thought something was wrong with it. Then I realized it was snow and was a deliberate thing. It’s cool but I don’t think I’ll put in on mine.

    1. Yup I thought the same also, but realised quickly that it was a feature not an error … not sure how long I’ll keep it, but it’s fun for now 😎

    1. I realised that more experiences bloggers would have seen this before, but it’s fun to get excited about … I’d better mark it in my calendar for next year 🙂

    1. So do I, was looking at the html code to see if there was some “special code”, and eventually gave up and googled it … great idea, not sure how long the novelty will last, but what the heck, right ?

  4. Thank you for following my blog! So excited, you are my first!!! I really like your blog and am following it too! ^_^ Thanks again – you made my day

  5. I’m glad I read this post – I was beginning to think something was wrong with the way my computer was presenting wordpress! I will check out the page, but probably won’t go for snow, as I live in Queensland Australia, where we get a very hot summer for Christmas!

    1. I thought it was cool, not sure if I’ll keep it, but though my readers would want to know !

And it’s hot where I am too at Christmas 🙂

      Lovely to hear from you

      Warm regards

      DC
