I love panoramas. The joining multiple photos to get a photo of a wider area appeals to me …
One of the problems with posting a pano is that the wider it is the more “slitty” it looks on the page. My experiment, extra tall, extra skinny, that way it takes up more space on the page, not less …
So here’s my first extra skinny panorama – a beach sunset with silhouette palm trees, beautiful yellow shimmer on the sea 🙂
Just looked at the preview of this post and the featured image leaves a whole large area for text, so next time I’d better think of some more stuff to say !

The pano was taken on iPhone 4S HDR photos x3. 1w by 3h portrait. Stitched togetherand edited in Photoshop CS6. The master pano is 23 megapixels.

We do, but we also have a manager who “diverts” money from the things they are earmarked for to her pet projects (like her pocket and her boyfriend).
Ah, that makes sense the old conflicting bills trick and the window cleaning lost to the toy-boy ?
That seems to be the way it is around here. She even admitted it to me when I made her really angry once, but now calls me a liar if I mention it. To each her own I guess, but I’ll be here long after she is gone, unless, of course, I die in my sleep some night.
ghost ?
love this, but of course I love anything at the beach/waters edge!
🙂 I’ve got some more pics, I’ll keep posting them … sunsets and beaches are very pleasing to the eye !
Thank you so much for following my blog. I have enjoyed yours and welcome your visits.
Hey John, you are most welcome, and thank you for dropping in on my blog … keep in touch, warm regards DC
Such a stunning shot Don! Love it!
Thanks, I thought it’d be a cool idea, and so far seems like others like it too 🙂 cheers DC

Thanks Andrea, nice to hear from you 🙂 warm regards DC
MANY HUGS….
🙂
Beautiful photography. Among other things the first one would make for a very nice bookmark.
Thank you 🙂 Hadn’t thought of that, but yes could print it and use it as a bookmark ! DC
Restful and peaceful 🙂
Thanks:) what did you think about the extra-tall effect ?
It was nice but I would have cropped it a bit top and bottom. I do like the ‘skinny’ look to it though.
Thanks, I’m still experimenting so feedback is useful even if I don’t always agree !
We always seem to agree to disagree 😉
I’d say that’s the exception rather than the rule … some excellent power cable photos coming up, that’s a real goldmine in thailand !
bwahaha
🙂
Award time again for you my friend 🙂

Thanks Suz, very kind of you … I think there’s another awards day coming up … maybe on thanksgiving !
It’s beautiful. I like the wide ones, but for this scene, I think the tall and skinny is best. I love sunsets. Take loads of them out my window, because I get a better view that way. Not a clear view, because outside window hasn’t been washed since I moved in here 11 years ago, but even so, I can get some good views.
That’s great, I have many sunsets in the pipeline 🙂 … don’t you have any window cleaners in the South ?
Something went wrong here and my reply to this is at the bottom of the page. I couldn’t have made a mistake myself, just because my poor little fingers are frozen, but, there ya go. Rather than repeat myself, you will have to scroll down to see the original reply. 🙂
Got it, thread has moved lower … don’t know why, sometimes things go wrong, that’s life !
