Canadian Totalitarian Plans To Censor The Internet

Just saw this – how long before internet in Canada looks the same as internet in North Korea or China ? Where’s Jordan Peterson when you need him ? Is the end of free speech in Canada ?

Great firewall of China, in Canada ?

The news source is relatively new to me – so if you have further centrist-leaning video reports on this issue, feel free to share in the comments section, I’m interested.

Lastly – I AM JUST PASSING THIS ON – I am not a journalist or activist and TBH most of the time not a “serious” writer either (blogging is supposed to be fun?). I’m a centrist, I read and view content from both sides of the aisle (as long as it’s not blatant propaganda, or utter trash) – so I’m sharing this for your information, something you may not be aware of and may be interested in (or not, in which case, just go to the next post). As with any news or report, don’t just take it at face value, do your own research, use your own critical thinking. Kind of obvious really, but best stated, so that it’s clear.

Fatboy Slim – Soul Surfing

The boy eating his lunch reminded me of the front cover of – “You’ve come a long way baby”, and this is probably the best track off that album.

Enjoy !

Martin Solveig And Dragonette ft. Idoling – Big In Japan (Single Version)

Something a bit more upbeat for … because … I like it, dunno why, but I do …

The dog seemed to want to get photographed, even smiled for me 🙂 Could be a juxtapose or could be exactly the right photo, dunno. Suppose it’s subjective, beauty is said to be in the eye of the beholder.

Mainstream Media’s Lies About Brexit EXPOSED

I came across Mahyar Tousi’s channel over the past couple of months. He provides an informative populist discussion of (mostly UK) – current affairs, culture and politics, is well spoken, engaging and charismatic.

It seems the BBC is having a meltdown right now, they just announced 450 job cuts in their news division, with more cuts to come.

ffmpeg One Liner – Still Photo + Music File = Video File

ffmpeg is one of the most powerful video/audio enoding/decoding/etc tools out there. It’s been around for donkey’s years, and used by amateurs and pros alike.

The main downside is that it’s a command line only tool, so if you’re not willing or able to “get your hands dirty” then probably just do a next on this post. If you want to to try it out, there’s plenty of guides accessible via Google et al which will shine a light on the path for you.

ffmpeg is available for Windows, Linux and Mac. ffmpeg has codecs included for just about every photo/audio/video imaginable. As one comment I spotted online eluded – ffmpeg is very very smart, more than people give it credit for.

BBC Brainwashing Kids – Nish Kumar’s Horrible Inaccuracies

The last I heard of Nish Kumar he was being booed off stage, at the Lord’s Taverners annual charity cricket lunch (London). You can look that one up for yourself. But, in short – from what I understood it was because Nish was making jokes conforming to a minority political narrative (Orange man bad, Brexiteers are stupid racists etc), which, unfortunately for Nish, the audience didn’t share with him. It didn’t go well at all for Nish – food was thrown at him and he took the bizarre move of arguing with the audience, and doubling down, rather than taking it on the chin and gracefully bowing down. I think in the end one of the organisers had to go on the stage and usher him off. Presumably, before something more drastic occurred, although I’m 100% certain Lord’s Taverners annual charity cricket bunch aren’t white supremacists or KKK, they seemed like a bunch of elderly folks having a peaceful knees up – so probably they would have just verbally escalated the interaction, until Nish got the message that his intrusion to their celebration *REALLY* was unwelcome.

Boris’ Brexit Exit Speech – BBC And UK Fakestream Media Intentionally Snubbed

Seems UK Conservatives have had enough of bias UK “fakestream” media. BBC and the rest of the UK mainstream media won’t be getting their usual first dibs scoops from the UK Conservative party. Boris’ Brexit exit speech, which he’ll be … Continue reading Boris’ Brexit Exit Speech – BBC And UK Fakestream Media Intentionally Snubbed

Posting Copyright Music On Your Blog Via YouTube

Recently I moved my old videos from WordPress to YouTube to free up storage space on my blog, for posting photography later.

I wasn’t quite sure how YouTube would deal with the fact that the music included in some of my videos is mainstream and copyright. I thought this was a big no no on YouTube.

As it turns out, I was wrong – it’s OK, you can post copyright music without getting banned etc from YouTube. Only thing that will happen is that the video will get marked as containing copyright music. The rub is that you won’t receive any monetization. *Nothing bad will happen.*

I thought about it for a while, and actually I don’t care, my videos would probably only clock up a few views anyway – so monetization isn’t something of any importance to me.

The other thing is videos can be set to unlisted, so they don’t appear in search. What that means is it’s just your blog viewers who can access them via the special link provided by YouTube (not shown in any search).

So copyright owner isn’t actually going to make any money from you posting the video, which is fine for me (of course if you actually wanted to give the money to the copyright owner, you can set the video as listed for search in YouTube)

So, could be a good way to share music you like with your followers – just a suggestion/tip. Might be helpful to someone. I will likely use the facility again later, as sometimes I can only find poor quality versions of pieces of music (on YouTube) I’d like to share, or I can’t find the particular mix/version that I have in my own music collection.

It’s simple to merge a single still photo with music (easiest way to do it). Or if you have video you can merge the video with music.

I think I used Photoshop to do mine. Also Avidemux I’ve used in the past – it’s free, and pretty easy to use. Plus plenty of others out there.

Feel free to leave a comment – what’s your favourite video editing software (preferably free and easy to use.) ?Especially like to hear what Linux users use for video editing, as I’m using Linux more and more these days.
