Easy to say for Guy Finley: many of his childhood friends were the children of celebrities. And despite this, he never broke through as an artist. As many know; there is a bigger chance to become famous and earn money in religion and spirituality than in being a novelist.
Sounds a bit disaffected, and overthought.
But, agreed on the last sentence, I think it’s called the “pareto distribution”, ie it’s the top few percentiles who make it big, while the rest (of us) are starving artists.
Look at the picture you posted and imagine where you’ll be standing with a guru in the room.
Is everything OK with you my friend ?
Was just thinking; if I can’t be a novelist, I don’t want to be rich and famous.
If that’s your dream, then go for it. It’s pretty easy to do these days. And, maybe think of doing several novels, that way more chance of success.
Being rich and famous, isn’t necessarily best, or something that many people care about –

Well, what can a writer do? He writes, just like the farmer keeps plowing.
It’s a competitive arena. Jordan Peterson mentioned authors, and book sales, peredo distribution – in Maps of meaning (popped up in my feed yesterday or day before) :
How about doing a guest post for my blog ? Would that help ?
It would be nice if you could give my next post a boost. It’s about a book launch of the 3rd part in my series accompanied with some give-away of the first part on April 10th. Read it maybe first before you make up your mind. Anyway; thanks for your supportive comments.
No worries, it’s up to us to help each other.
By guest post – I mean you write something new. Perhaps a short story, (maybe – how you feel about pandemic) 500-1500 words. Suggest a title, or I’ll suggest one for you. I’ll cite you as the author, link back to your blog.
