Ornate temple building, with two “Yak” guards …
I’ve seen very similar “Yak” at Bangkok airport departures. Yak or Yaksha is – a beneficent god who protects the righteous and they are common as guardians of the gates in Buddhist temples (and airport departures !)
Yakshas and their female counterparts are common in the Buddhist Thai literature. Ogres, giants and ogresses yakshas are popular as well in Thai folklore.
My girlfriend calls them “Yak” which must be the common term Thais use.
LEST I FORGET – The ornate cornicing, roofing etc, is very beautiful …
