  1. Hi Don, Thanks for following my blog! I was having a browse around yours, and noticed this post. I found some of those on the beach this August too, on the west coast of Vancouver Island, and in all the years I’ve been going there, had never seen the like. They are pelagic goose barnacles. Mine were attached to a large bull kelp.

      1. I know, that was my same reaction — like a whole little city, cast into an inhospitable environment. But beautiful. BTW, I really like your avatar pic!
