Some white flowers that “live” just near the entrance to my apartment complex. The photo was taken early evening on my way out to shoot sunsets on the beach 🙂
The lower leaves have the lovely yellowy-glowy light that comes with a sunset … No idea what the flower/plant is called, but I’m sure amongst my 13000 followers there’s a botanist somewhere !

Beautiful. Some neighbors have planted them nearby. Will have to check out how they smell. They are just gorgeous.:-)
They smell really nice I can attest to that !
These are one of the things I loved most about Thailand, even though since coming home I’ve managed to find a few in my area. They are magnificent.
There certainly are some beautiful things here 🙂
I think those Re indeed plumeria. They sure look nice from this cold wintery place. I’m glad they’re fragrant. I can only imagine!
Thanks … and I saw some flowers in London in January, I should/will post them … warm regards DC
No doubt you already know they are Frangipani. They come in other colours also. I have a white frangipani growing in my front garden. It was taken from a cutting from the tree at our last home that was taken from a cutting from the tree that was in my grandmother’s garden. It also comes in various colours ranging from deep red to beautiful pinks. And I love them. 🙂
Thanks Suz, and I didn’t realise how many botanists in my midst, so very helpful. I’ve seen now that they grow as a tree …
Yes, the road around the corner from me is loaded with them and when they are all in flower it is beautiful.
I didn’t know it’s good to smell, I’ll give that a go next time I get a chance …
They have a lovely scent but if you pick one be careful with the sap as that is toxic I believe.
OK captain, I’ll keep my hands off …
I absolutely love these flowers, sorta enchanted by their scent, wondering if you know the name…. Assuming they’re not officially called white evening flowers 🙂
They’re not called that and about 5 or 6 of my readers have named it, so please check the other comments 🙂 warm regards DC
I’ve always known it as the temple tree…we have a pink flowered one outside the house…but i could never take such a beautiful photograph as that.
Thanks Helen, Seems there are three names so far … oh and one red herring, Charly reckons it’s a lilly, but he’s a kidder !
And I don’t consider myself an expert photographer, I just go out with my iPhone and try and take nice photos … often it seems to work out … I was thinking of posting some of my disasters so people can see that it’s practice and repetition that breeds the skill.
Definitely Plumerias ~ they smell like “home” to me (I’m from the Big Island (Hawaii).
Thanks, I will have to try and smell them next time, I didn’t even think 🙂
First off, you do not have 13000 followers!! I know since I have 65.999 million people following me and wordpress says there are 60 million poeple.
And second off, I do like the pictures. You always put some strange cool pictures up.
And third off, I am an expert botanist, so they are called lilleys.
First off, you are right, I have 12,799 WordPress/gravatar followers, 265 Twitter followers, 216 Facebook followers, 68 Tumblr Followers and 293 Google+ Followers … So I’ll give you that one dude …
Second off, thanks dude, you’ve lovely of you 🙂
And third off, not, but I think if you read some of the other comments you’ll find out …
Stay frosty …

Love ya Mr. Charisma…..and I´ll also say that you are right.
Love you too Charly, you’re a joker, but good hearted joker, I like that 🙂
Hell, I like myself too, so then we are two then.
Two peas in a pod dude 🙂
Beautiful flowers what kind are they?
It appears there are more botanists in our midst than I expect … have a look at the other comments 🙂 warm regards DC
Beautiful. Yes, it’s Plumeria, commonly known as Frangipani. And it smells wonderful!
I didn’t get a smell, I’ll try it next time … I’ve seen them growing on trees so must be a big plant when it grows up … and thanks for filling in my botany knowledge 🙂 Warm regards DC
You’re welcome. It’s a medium-sized tree, not huge. Very tropical.
I didn’t realise until just now that you had replied to my comment. In some way, I’m still a bit WP-challenged — I just discovered that there is a Facebook-stye ‘notifications’ icon at the top right corner of my blog!
LOL yup comments are available in several places, none of which is completely perfect, still have trouble following threads and conversations on other people blogs … do my best all I can do 🙂 warm regards DC
🙂
Beautiful 💖
Thanks hun 🙂
It is called frangipani 🙂
Thanks hun, I am blessed to be in the midst of botanists 🙂
Thanks for the follow! People in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand call these fragrant flowers Frangipani. They also come in pink and red (rare). Have a good weekdend!
You are very welcome … and I am truly blessed to have botanists amongst my readers 🙂
Warm regards

Gorgeous pic of beautiful flowers! They look like plumeria to me. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, I’m lucky to have many botanists 🙂 and you are welcome … warm regards DC
Hi Don, Thanks for the follow. These flowers are commonly called Frangipani in Asian countries like Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. White is the most common but some species come in pink and even red.
That’s awesome, so I do have some botanists in my midst … much appreciated, as I don’t know where to start or how long it would take me to identify a species of plant !
Since photographing this one I’ve seen quite large trees with this flower on, photographed one today …
Warm regards

It may be a plumeria, but whatever it is, it’s beautiful!! ~SueBee
Thanks SueBee 🙂
You really did express the beauty of that flower. Some people don’t take time to see beauty like that.
Often I don’t see it myself it’s only when I get home and look at the images on the computer I see how beautiful it is … within that photography is teaching me to be more observant, and amazing all the sights I would normally just walk past, that I don’t miss now I’m taking photos 🙂
The flowers/plant is Frangipani, also known as Plumeria.
Thank you, so you’re the one 🙂
Whatever they are called, they’re beautiful!
Thanks Jackie 🙂
Beautiful photo, beautiful flower! I’m not a botanist, so I can’t tell you what sort of flower they are. “Live” doesn’t have to be in parentheses though; plants are very much alive! They also move and such. They just live in “slow motion” from a human perspective. 🙂
Thanks 🙂
And those aren’t parenthesis, they are double quotes, and I put them there for reason … that is to indicate that I was talking about the plant’s location, where it resides, not whether it was dead or alive, I’m very well aware that plants are alive …
Warm regards

Ohh! Derp moment on my part. (Recently discovered your blog, and it’s fantastic, by the way!)
No worries and probably a little sharp on my part … I’m still learning to word things smoothly, and in English it’s so very easy to be ambiguous !
Thanks for you kind comments …
Warm regards
