Some white flowers that “live” just near the entrance to my apartment complex. The photo was taken early evening on my way out to shoot sunsets on the beach 🙂
The lower leaves have the lovely yellowy-glowy light that comes with a sunset … No idea what the flower/plant is called, but I’m sure amongst my 13000 followers there’s a botanist somewhere !

These are one of the things I loved most about Thailand, even though since coming home I’ve managed to find a few in my area. They are magnificent.

No doubt you already know they are Frangipani. They come in other colours also. I have a white frangipani growing in my front garden. It was taken from a cutting from the tree at our last home that was taken from a cutting from the tree that was in my grandmother’s garden. It also comes in various colours ranging from deep red to beautiful pinks. And I love them. 🙂

Yes, the road around the corner from me is loaded with them and when they are all in flower it is beautiful.
I didn’t know it’s good to smell, I’ll give that a go next time I get a chance …
They have a lovely scent but if you pick one be careful with the sap as that is toxic I believe.

I’ve always known it as the temple tree…we have a pink flowered one outside the house…but i could never take such a beautiful photograph as that.

And I don’t consider myself an expert photographer, I just go out with my iPhone and try and take nice photos … often it seems to work out … I was thinking of posting some of my disasters so people can see that it’s practice and repetition that breeds the skill.
Definitely Plumerias ~ they smell like “home” to me (I’m from the Big Island (Hawaii).

Hi Don, Thanks for the follow. These flowers are commonly called Frangipani in Asian countries like Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. White is the most common but some species come in pink and even red.
That’s awesome, so I do have some botanists in my midst … much appreciated, as I don’t know where to start or how long it would take me to identify a species of plant !
Since photographing this one I’ve seen quite large trees with this flower on, photographed one today …

Often I don’t see it myself it’s only when I get home and look at the images on the computer I see how beautiful it is … within that photography is teaching me to be more observant, and amazing all the sights I would normally just walk past, that I don’t miss now I’m taking photos 🙂

Beautiful photo, beautiful flower! I’m not a botanist, so I can’t tell you what sort of flower they are. “Live” doesn’t have to be in parentheses though; plants are very much alive! They also move and such. They just live in “slow motion” from a human perspective. 🙂

And those aren’t parenthesis, they are double quotes, and I put them there for reason … that is to indicate that I was talking about the plant’s location, where it resides, not whether it was dead or alive, I’m very well aware that plants are alive …
