This is cutting edge improvisational blogging. We call it –
“Whose Blog is it Anyway ?” 2 – The Unanswerables
We have written this for FUN, not serious, to amuse ourselves and our readers, and help promote our blogs. Please read with that in mind.
Commenters – Please DO NOT post outbound links whilst the event is going on AND please DO NOT post comments if you are a moron.
Whose Blog is it Anyway? 2 – The Unanswerables
Why “The Unanswerables” ? Because the titles assigned to my guest improvisers don’t have an exact scientific answer or they are just zany and off the wall.
Do not expect fact here. Do not expect the truth here. This is creative writing for FUN, HUMOUR and for those with a SENSE OF HUMOUR. It’s cutting edge IMPROVISED blogging, not science weekly or the historian’s gazette.
The guest improvisers were assigned titles by me, and are therefore NOT necessarily experts or even actually FOR the topic they are writing about. They all did however “YES, AND” the challenge which is the spirit of improvisation and what we’re doing here.
We’re not interested in your critical appraisal, it simply isn’t required. It is in fact IRRELEVANT to the context of improvised, for fun creative writing. Stop taking yourselves so seriously.
So without further ado …
Suz
Her Highness – The Majesty Royal And One Stupendous Blogger
Suz is lovely. I don’t know how or when we first became friends, but she seems to like my photography, so that could have been it.
Suz is currently running her own series of interviews with bloggers that she knows – Fellow Blogger. It’s definitely worth checking out, there’s lot of interesting things about many cool bloggers.
She’s been my top commenter for some time now, and I think she may spend more time on my blog than I do. For this challenge we’ve got a lovely submission from Suz, it’s swimming gorilla poetry style.
You can find Suz at It Goes On blog.
Please give a warm welcome to Suz.
Cheers

The Swimming Gorilla
Intro
From the mind of Don Charisma
An incredible task was set
My brain has fried
I almost died
To meet the challenge …. yet
I did it!!
Please enjoy
Improvisation
It’s terribly hot here in Summer.
It causes all kinds of distress
From florid face to sweaty pits
To various states of undress
The sun it just keeps on shining
The people in vain hide away
In darkened rooms with cooling air
Where ceiling fans holding sway
The beaches fill to overflowing
With people keen to cool their blood
They slop on sunscreen, pull on hats
And drop on towels with a thud
They hop across the scorching sand
To reach the water fair
And dip their toes in the cooling brine
And breathe the salty air
Humanity swirls all around
It really is quite bizarre
That those who wish to cool down
Lay beneath this blazing star
Yet whilst humans lay, and swim and play
Primates at the zoo grew hot
Amongst the murmurs of discontent
Some began to hatch a plot
The beach spied from the highest tree
Growing straight against the wall
Offered hope and respite
If they heeded its siren’s call
Beneath their hirsute suits they simmered
The weather now beyond a joke
The decision made, they scaled the wall
Escaping quickly at a lope
It wouldn’t do to go there naked
The crowds would be so scared
Swinging by the local stores
They stole some underwear
The waves upon the shoreline beckoned
The bathers were aghast
As a horde of hirsute primates
In underwear tore past
They loped toward the shoreline
Their eyes upon the prize
Of foam-flecked waves advancing
So blue from reflected skies
Just a dip is all they wished
For them it was such a win
For the world it was a revelation
That gorillas could actually swim

heheheheheheheehehehe
Love it-love it-love it!! The imagery is fantastic, and the pictures added to the post. Thanks Suz and Don!
Hey Mary. Thanks for reading. Hope you’re doing we’ll. 🙂
WElcome 🙂
Really great, Suz. I’m glad I don’t write much in my blog…lol. Much more fun to read yours!
Thanks so much Laura. 🙂
🙂
Brilliant!!!!!
Thank you so much Elaine.
well done Sis
Thanks Mum. 😀
No Tween this time ?
No she’s worn herself out dancing on the beach. Mum often pops by to read my blog.
Ah, good, a team/family effort 🙂
I’m still working on the tween to do a guest post. Maybe I should get my mother to write one too.
Get ’em all at it … GG too … yay !
I’m definitely enjoying the notion that Don gave similar topics to a couple writers. It’s so fun to see each direction with the topic. The poem is fantastic, original, and you’re the first WBIIA entry that I can recall using it. This is such a fun read! Kudos!
I got nervous when I realised that some of us had the same titles but I think the comparisons are great, just shows how differently things can be perceived and translated. Clever man that Don bloke!!!
It certainly showed just what talented individuals there out in the blogosphere.
It does ☺️
Just realised I never responded to you Christopher. 😳 Thankyou so much for your kind words.
That gorilla photo alone is worth a Nobel prize. Great post, Sue.
Haha. Did you know that in London and somewhere in the US they have a gorilla marathon every year? Amazing what you learn when you google ‘gorillas in bikinis,.
Why am I not surprised?
I really don’t know Nav. It’s the sort of thing I’d expect to see down here. Lol
Reblogged this on It Goes On and commented:
Once more Don has hosted me on his blog. Thanks my friend.
Thanks for reblog, and you are welcome Suz 🙂
😀
Sue, this was excellent. I like seeing your creativity in various forms of writing. You certainly have a gift for writing.
Thank you my lovely. As do you. 🙂
I suppose it would make a fun children’s story. It would need some work on it. oooo seed planted.
And you forgot the monkey on the back lol
Monkey on the back ?
Have you never heard of a monkey on the back?
Yup, think it’s like a big burden ?
That’s right. Something that hangs around and is difficult to get rid of…. I was only thinking of other instances where animals are used in descriptions. Such as raining cats and dogs…
Yes I have a friend in London, uses that one all the time … and we use the raining cats and dogs too … so for next challenge you want “How to get this monkey off my back” ?
I could write a very serious article on hat one. Lol
You and me both:)
So the elephant is in the room and the gorillas in the ocean . I can imagine reading this as a children’s storybook…a thought to run with perhaps- really!! 🙂
Suz; Sue – Suzie —–A POEM!!! YAY!!! I loved it – loved it! The visual you created here is just gorgeous and splendid and all that stuff – 😀
What a wonderful thought – poor sweltering critters!! I dare say they had the entire waters edge to themselves right!.
I do write poetry on occasion but cannot hold a match to your ability. Thanks B.
I was unaware – and it is lovely to read your poetry Mrs Jones. 😀 Thank you for sharing it with us.
And you are so very welcome.
😀
That is awesome!
Thank you for your kind words Terese.
Yes, you did outdo yourself with this one, Sue. I bow to your poetic grace and overactive imagination.
I’ll second that Mark, thanks for saying it so well 🙂
Thank you my dear sirs. That took a lot of blood, sweat and tears and in this climate any loss of fluid is not good for your health 🙂
Suz, your majesty, you are a true champion 🙂
I’ve been called many things in this life but champion is a new one 😉
Great Sue, really well written.
Irene
Thanks Irene. You’re my biggest fan.
No there’s me too suz 🙂
You are writing so very well, otherwise no fans ;-D
