Streetscape Big Sky, Power Cable Heaven !

Suz doesn’t like power cables, so I’ve set my compass to trying to persuade her that they can be cool in a Photo. Plenty of sources of power cable inspiration here 🙂

Thanks Suz, you’re a constant source of inspiration to me … And no not Photoshop’ing these out 🙂

  1. Oh, welcome to Thailand. If you dig deeper into some of BKK neighbourhoods you find a lot more cables there. Some of these poles (or cable towers?) look pretty dangerous for me, haha!

  2. I’ve always thought the urban environment can look almost beautiful in its ugliness sometimes. thanks for sharing this photo…and for the follow!

    1. Taking photos at good angles always helps, and sometimes I “clean” things like rubbish/trash out which can make a serene beauty spot look positively unkempt … you are welcome, do keep in touch 🙂

    1. If you’re wondering “why” then I think it’s cheaper to put the cables in the air than underground … if you’re wondering something else then I don’t know !

      1. It’s more….something you see and it’s deeply spiritually unsettling……like it blocks the sky and we lose ourselves that way….

It’s just….I think it almost hurts….does that make sense. Like something is sad about it….

      2. It makes sense very much, it was very much like that when I first came out here … now I don’t notice so much, my brain filters them out, and actually since they where pointed out to me (again) I started making a feature … any photos here that are on the street it’s hard not have power cables in it !

      1. More worse thing often happen is when electric leaking and who care? Or poor dog pee at the electric post and get electric shock. Thai government are too busy with corruption. 🙂

      2. So I hear about the corruption, but not convinced that other countries don’t have the same problems. I guess it’s the ordinary citizen that suffers, which is the real problem.

I hear the explosions of the transformers when it rains, and worst that’s happened to me so far is loss of power for a longer or shorter period …

        warm regards

      1. Hey, I can dish it out but I can’t take it! lol I think there would be a lot of swearing going on if I attempted it. Sometimes, it’s just better to include blights on the landscape as a feature. 😉

      2. I’m the same … and it’s encouraged me to take some nice photos, so thanks for that suz … need to get some sleep it’s early in Thailand !

      1. There is beauty in everything, you just have to alter yourself enough to see it. I know many people who think server racks prettier than nature. If you look at it right you can see the maze of cables in a new light.

      2. Well personally I like these photos 🙂 And yes there is a certain beauty in server racks. However isn’t beauty in the eye of the beholder, and therefore in the mind of the beholder ?

      3. Thanks, there’s some beautiful scenes here, and I hope you get your chance some day 🙂 One of the reasons I’m posting the photos, as I’m somewhere with a different culture, that people may not have access to … I’ve had one critic, who complained about the number of photos I’ve posted, but honestly I don’t care it’s my blog, I’ll post what I want on it !
        Warm regards DC
